Auburn Honor Flute Day

Join us for a day of flute events with clinicians Dr. Virginia Broffitt Kunzer, Dr. Chelsea Cowan, and Ms. Nancy Vinson. Activities include clinics covering the Alabama All-State music, an exhibit and special presentation by the Carolyn Nussbaum Music Co., and Honor Flute Choir rehearsals and concert.

11:45-12:00 – Check-in (Goodwin Music Building Breezeway)

12:00-12:45 – Flute Choir Rehearsal (Goodwin Recital Hall)

12:45-1:30 – Carolyn Nussbaum presentation (Goodwin Rm. 102)

1:30-2:15 – Flute Choir Rehearsal (Goodwin Recital Hall)

2:15-2:30 – Break

2:30-3:30 – All-State Etude Class – Junior High/Middle School (Goodwin Rm. 112)

2:30-3:30 – All-State Etude Class – High School (Goodwin Rm. 102)

2:30-3:30 – Fundamental and Performance Class (for students not preparing Alabama All-State material) (Goodwin Recital Hall)

3:30-4:00 – Audition Preparation and Performance Advice (Goodwin Rm. 102)

4:00-4:15 – Break & Change

4:15-4:30 – Warm-up for concert (Goodwin Recital Hall)

4:30-5:00 – Honor Flute Choir Concert (Goodwin Recital Hall)

All Alabama High School and Junior High students are welcome to participate in the All-State Clinics. In order to participate in the Honor Flute Choir, we will need a recommendation from a private lesson teacher or band director. Private teachers or band directors may send a short recommendation to VBK@auburn.edu.

Registration for the event is $10.

The Carolyn Nussbaum Music Company will have a small exhibit of flutes, music, and accessories. Please contact them (flute4u.com) to request specific materials.
